Brown Sugar Bread
 
  • 1 c brown sugar packed
  • 2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tblsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease loaf pan.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat to combine eggs, milk and vegetable oil.
  • Gradually blend dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan filling an inch below the rim to compensate for rise. Optional: sprinkle sugar or chopped nuts on top.
  • Bake 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a loaf comes out clean.
